As you know GOM has many channels including Starcraft and WoW. With the occasional special event. Now they will give us an Warcraft 3 Invitational. They invited eight of the best or the eight best Warcraft 3 players. Even if you do not like the game this should be pretty interesting. Check it out.

There have been news about the Valor Tournament! Check it out @ GOMTV.net!

Games for May 24th:

Image Shuttle vs Image ZergBong

Image Falcon vs Image Much

Set One
Image Calm vs Image HoeJJa

Calm against HoeJJa, STX Soul against KTF MagicNS. Which Zerg can prove that he is the upcoming player on his team? If HoeJJa can defeat Calm it will show that his win against sAviOr was not just luck. Calm on the other hand has everything to lose. He is supposed to be better than HoeJJa but statistics do not matter. Let them battle it out!

HoeJJa dominated his opponent Calm in a decisive Zerg versus Zerg matchup.

HoeJJa gained the early advantage by breaking into Calm’s base with a mass zerglings attack, beginning a series of drone snipes that would force Calm farther and farther behind.

Calm was forced into a position of defense, and slowly saw his mutalisk and scourge forces whittled away while HoeJJa slowly crept ahead in the unit count.

Eventually Calm attempted a last ditch effort to take out some drones, but was beaten back by superior air numbers and forced to GG.

HoeJJa advances to the round of 16 with superior play that took apart his opponent.

Calm attempted to break HoeJJa’s ramp early, but was forced back by slightly superior zerglings numbers. Losing more zerglings than he planned, Calm was forced to lightly contain HoeJJa inside his base.

HoeJJa eventually broke out with zerglings and mutalisks, and ran over Calm in his main. Calm attempted to fend off the counterattack, but was defeated by incredible scourge micro and zergling pressure on the drone line.

Calm GGed and was eliminated from the tournament.

Set Two
Image Shuttle vs Image ZergBong

A battle of the underdogs. We have Shuttle who got in the Ro.32 by beating forGG and ZergBong who got here by defeating Great. Both of those games have been upsets which is not that uncommon in GOM. You have to remember that Shuttle once was in the Top 4 in Season 1 while being kicked out in the Ro.128 in Season 2. Maybe he can come up with another miracle and take his place in the Ro.16. For ZergBong this may be the last chance to take a good standing in an individual league before he gets too old. Let us hope for some awesome games from these skilled gamers!

Shuttle pulled out a win with excellent defense, halting a series of desperate attacks from Zergbong.

The Protoss had excellent intel for the entire game, with a long living scouting probe followed up by corsairs sniping overlords as well as scouting.

Two damaging harasses by Shuttle helped steer the Protoss to a advantageous position, forcing Zergbong into a series of desperate drops against Shuttle.

The drops were simply not effective, and after four failed attempts at the attack, Zergbong was forced to GG.

Zergbong evened up the score with an early and perfectly timed entrance bust.

The Zerg opted for a nine pool build, a move that is unorthodox for A Garden of God. The move would prove to help win him the game as HoeJJa was unprepared for the sudden attack.

While the lurkers were morphing for the bust HoeJJa sensed trouble and tried to put up some photons, but it was too little too late and the game ended quickly with HoeJJa GGing as the Zerg overwhelmed his main.

Shuttle pulled out a win after deflecting a critical attack in his main.

Zergbong opted for his fast pool build, attempting to control the flow of the game with early zerglings pressure. He soon transitioned into hydras in an effort to break the natural expansion of Shuttle.

The attack was mildly effective, and Zergbong decided to tech to lurkers, which looked like to could shred Shuttle, who was without a single robotics facility.

The Zerg drop to the undefended main was a total failure, with clumped lurkers falling to two psionic storms. The blunder would cost Zergbong the game.

Shuttle saw his opportunity to land himself in the round of 16 and launched a timing attack against the reeling Zerg player. Zergbong countered with yet another drop that was easily deflected.

Soon Zergbong was flooded with Protoss units and was forced to GG.

Set Three
Image JJonga vs Image Jaedong

I really do not know what to say here. I mean this should be a 2-0 win for Jaedong. JJonga came this far by dropping DTs against Lomo twice in a row. Maybe he is able to drop or rush Jaedong out of GOM but the possibility of that is very unlikely. Jaedong is very unlikely to be rushed or dropped easily. No offense against Lomo but Jaedong is also on a complete different level than him. If JJonga manages to win against 'The Tyrant' this will be the biggest upset ever. Even though these games are bound to be short let us hope for some action-packed games.

JJonga pulled out a victory against the top rated KeSPA player with excellent timing and defense.

Jaedong attempted to do a two-pronged attack with lurkers against the Protoss followed up with a drop, but it proved ineffective and put the top ranked player behind for the rest of the game.

The Protoss pushed the advantage with excellent dual storm drop/dark templar harassment, killing numerous drones and slowing the growth of the Zerg army.

While Jaedong did win one contact in the center of the map, it was not enough to stave off the Protoss army.

JJonga countered Jaedong’s final attack- a big drop into the Protoss main. The Zerg was unable to deal with the full brunt of the Protoss army and was forced to GG.

Jaedong came back with a vengeance with incredible offensive play, starting off with a mass zergling attack.

The Zerg had put up a hydralisk den to dupe the Protoss into thinking mass hydralisks were coming, but Jaedong was planning for a mass zergling attack instead.

The attack was focused on a key expansion for JJonga, and the rest of the match’s battles took place at this location.

Jaedong did not let up the pressure, pounding the expansion until he finally took it out of commission.

JJonga was in a very bad position, and was soon forced to GG as waves of hydralisks began to pour up his main’s ramp.

Jaedong took the set after coming back from an incredibly strong cannon rush.

JJonga not only cannon rushed Jaedong, but he added further strength to the attack by walling in the cannons behind the forge. Jaedong would have to play perfectly to get out of the attack.

Since it is Jaedong playing, perfect play was seen. Hydralisk micro broke down the cannons in a few moments. The Zerg then opted to build up hydralisks to do a final push on the Protoss.

Before that final push Jaedong broke in and sniped the robotics bay, preventing JJonga from building any more reavers. Without reavers the Protoss has no chance of stopping a mass hydralisk army with only ground units.

After Jaedong took out JJonga’s only reaver, JJonga GGed and was forced out of the tournament.

Jaedong advances to the round of 16 after incredible play.

Set Four
Image Falcon vs Image Much

The last ZvP of the day and what a ZvP it is. We have Falcon who kicked out Nada and Much who performed an awesome Bo3 against sacsri. If these games will be like the last ones Much has played we can hope for some very long and incredible games. Will there be another 'falcon punch' which will kick another older player out or will Much just dominate him and prove that he is indeed a true master of his race. Watch it and enjoy!

Much pulled out a win after stopping two successive attacks that Falcon invested everything he had in.

Falcon wanted to end the game early with an early hydralisk break, but was barely pushed back with excellent defense from Much.

Trying to follow up the failed break to the front, Falcon attempted to break in the back after destroying the neutral temples. Much’s defense was too much for Falcon, and was stopped again after trying to attack this location.

Without a viable economy to transition from, Falcon was forced to GG as his all-in attacks had failed.

Much took home the set victory after an incredibly timed break attack.

The Protoss controlled the Zerg for the majority of the game, forcing Falcon to turtle after early drone and overlord harassment kept the Zerg army small.

Falcon stayed on the defensive, building sunken and spore colonies at his main, and expanding during the next phase of the game.

Much timed a brutal attack that broke down all the defenses at Falcon’s main, prompting him to GG.
