Welcome to the Round of 32! A place where more exciting Starcraft awaits the viewer! Let us watch our favorite progamers as they play to achieve the prestigious GOMtv Averatec-Intel Classic Season 3 prize. The Ro.32 will have new maps: Neo Medusa, Garden of God, and A Ridge of Heartbreak. Let us hope for some good games on these maps.

Set One

“Is it a plane? Is it a bird? No! It is a 'Red Shuttle'!” Kal, aka GoojiLa, is back for another round of Starcraft at the GOMtv Averatec-Intel Classic. Since he opens the Ro. 32 expect him to show us some good and solid games. But who is his enemy? It is herO, a fellow member of the STX Soul team. These two have trained together a long time for other matches and now they are facing each other. Can the young Zerg bring down the 'Red Shuttle' like a herO?

Goojila scored an incredible comeback victory against his teammate, mostly due to legendary dark templar harassment.

The Protoss was set back early, losing its first corsair and then failing a counter when some very effective mutalisk harassment took out numerous probes.

Hero attempted to whittle down the front with his advantage, but he was soon on the business end of a dark templar with a 22 kill streak.

That dark templar turned it around enough for Goojila to push the Zerg main and force a GG from Hero.

Hero came back with a vengeance this game, taking advantage of his opponent’s unusual build.

Goojila opted for double shuttle/corsair play, which could have been powerful if Hero hadn’t spotted it and sent waves of hydras to break the front of the Protoss main. Both players were now stuck in their particular path without any way to look back.

Hero made it up the Protoss ramp easily, as there were no reavers guarding it, but those missing reavers found themselves in Hero’s expansions, causing huge damage.

Unfortunately for Goojila, Hero had the Protoss main fully exposed, and forced the Protoss to GG as most of his tech tree was destroyed.

Goojila took home the final win after steadily steamrolling his STX teammate Hero.

Hero steadily lost ground this entire map, losing a great deal of scourge early on and therefore losing his mutalisk’s map control.

After losing map control the Protoss began to slowly rack up win after win on the field, keeping the Zerg army behind at a safe distance.

Though Hero did snipe an expansion, it wasn’t enough. A final deluge of storms decimated the Zerg army, sealing the win and forcing Hero to GG.

Goojila moves on to the round of 16.

Set Two
Image Modesty vs Image BaBy

There once was a mighty Protoss named JangBi who wanted to advance but was stopped by a Baby. Now we all know that Baby is a dangerous player with lots of strategies. We all saw how good he is against Protoss, let us now see how good he is against Zerg. He will face Modesty in a fierce 'Best of Three'. Only one will advance in the search for fame and money. Who will it be?

Baby really came through under pressure and successfully defended against a four pool in this micro intensive game.

Modesty accidentally canceled his first drone, so he opted for a four pool since he was already far behind due to this mistake.

The fast approaching zerglings took out the first bunker Modesty built, but the second bunker was successfully occupied by a marine, grinding the rush to a halt.

Baby responded by sending out a vulture to harass drones, while the first wraith forced Modesty to GG.

Modesty turned around and won after being the recipient of some of the most damaging wraith harassment seen in the tournament so far.

A two starport build turned out to be very effective for Baby, who used wraiths to cause massive amounts of damage to mutalisks, drones, and overlords.

The game transitioned into medic marine and hydra lurker armies, with Modesty somehow able to effectively deal with the Terran army.

Despite taking huge losses, the Zerg not only held off the Terran army but landed a devastating drop in the Terran main, all but defeating Baby.

Baby GGed after losing his dropship, which was his only real chance at dealing some damage to the Zerg.

Baby pulled off a comeback victory to win the game and the set.

Modesty dealt some early damage to Baby, taking out his first bionic push. This was followed with a light lurker contain to give the Zerg time to tech up.

Baby’s next push was countered by a lurker attack to his expansion, and what followed was a series of micro intensive battles, with Baby looking very far behind.

The Zerg began to fall apart and lose too many defilers and zerglings, putting a game that appeared to be over some time ago back into the disputed category.

The attack that sealed the game for Baby was a drop to the Zerg main which resulted in a destroyed defiler mound and hydralisk den.

The next attack at the front doors of Modesty’s main prompted him to GG.

Baby moves on to the round of 16.

Set Three
Image Hwasin vs Image 815

Another STX Soul player will fight. This time it is Hwasin- a very known Terran. He is against 815- the underdog who took out Great. Since this is GOM and upsets happen all the time one can only say who is the favorite but not who will win. Is it possible for 815 to come up with some wicked play to destroy Hwasin or will the 'Red Sniper' take it home with a headshot?

Hwasin won the first match with a very straightforward mech build.

815 attempted to harass the Terran, but Hwasin’s goliaths made short work of the mutalisks and ground the harassment to a halt.

The first Terran push was also the last, killing an expansion before pincering the entire Zerg army. 815 GGed after Hwasin broke down the doors of his main.

Hwasin’s aggressive play landed him another win, taking home a ticket to the round of 16.

The Terran attempted a very early bunker rush which 815 deflected quite well. 815 responded by taking the Terran gas and keeping a small force of zerglings outside his base.

Hwasin then opted to follow up his failed rush with a four barracks timing attack, which was poised for success as 815 teched aggressively, leaving his base underguarded.

The push was too much for 815 to handle, and after Hwasin took out all the sunken colonies at the front of the natural Zerg expansion, 815 GGed.

Hwasin moved on with ease to the round of 16.

Set Four
Image July vs Image BackHo

The last match and hopefully the best one. We have July, the most famous STX Soul member, against BackHo, who is one of the 'Six Dragons' but who has not played that much since the last GOM because he had an injury which had him forfeit his last match at said tournament. He may have trained like a madman but is he able to take down the 'God of War'? We will see!

July dominated Backho in a simple game of mutalisk micro.

July kept Backho occupied until the mutalisks were ready, pinning all of his hopes for victory on his two hatchery build.

Backho was unprepared for the mutalisks with only a few cannons in the expansion July chose to attack.

The Protoss player Backho GGed after losing a good number of probes and corsairs in the attacks.

July came out on top in an incredible game of micro and macro, with both sides mining themselves out at one point.

The Zerg initiated an early attack that looked like it might take Backho out immediately, but Backho responded by sniping a large number of overlords with corsairs, forcing the Zerg units back.

Some minor harassment framed the next moments of the game, with a failed DT drop and some mildly effective storm drops.

A big moment came when Backho launched a huge push from his base, almost forcing July into submission. July barely held off the attack and both players were now close to being totally mined out.

July had at least some minerals in his expansions, but July had the larger army and no available minerals save for long distance mining. The game entered a very tense stalemate for the next few moments.

Backho attempted a final strike into a new and game-saving expansion of July’s, but was held off at the ramp by steadily increasing zerglings numbers. As July had the expansion advantage, as time progressed the Zerg became stronger and stronger.

The GG was forced from Backho when the remainder of his army was pincered by zerglings, and the probes that were long distance mining were taken out.

July advances to the round of 16.

When I first saw Baby play, I was like: "Hmm.. he's young and all, but doesn't really cut it against the good SC players".

In this season 3, I've been amazed by the games that he has been playing. If Flash is a little monster, then Baby is that little monsters evil twin.
